Controls, Sensors, and Alarm History

Capture active and recent alarms before clearing them. Record controller state, setpoint, mode, displayed temperatures, and any inconsistent sensor or operating evidence. Alarm codes guide the diagnostic direction but do not by themselves prove which part has failed.

Where the service scope allows, compare the controller information with direct observations and measurements. If the history shows a recurring pattern, link the PM record to the earlier repair or diagnostic record so the fleet can see whether the same condition is returning.

Operating Check and Release Evidence

The final operating check should match the work performed and the original concern. Record whether the unit starts, runs, changes mode, and maintains stable control through the available verification period. If pull-down or temperature recovery is evaluated, note the starting condition, duration, ambient and box context, and the limitation of an unloaded or short test.

Do not turn a brief yard run into a broad performance guarantee. A release record states what was checked and observed. It also lists open findings, deferred repairs, monitoring instructions, or the need for shop diagnostics when the available test cannot reproduce the route complaint.

Corrective Priorities and the Next Due Point

Classify findings by operational consequence and required timing. A condition that affects safe operation or temperature control needs immediate disposition. A developing issue may be scheduled before the next demanding route. A monitor item needs a clear trigger, such as recurrence of a named alarm or a measurable change in performance.

Finish the checklist with the next maintenance due point based on the applicable interval and current evidence. Any earlier follow-up should be recorded separately with its reason. That makes the checklist useful to dispatch, maintenance, and the next technician instead of ending as an isolated service receipt.
